1. Politics- How did the people govern themselves?
A. Role for the emperor in Dynasties

B. Role of scholar- Bureacrats (also known as mandarins)
1. Secured position through the examination system.
- Examines were awful and determined your job, money, and the rest of your life. The job that was chosen for you would be the job for the rest of your life.
-the higher the score, the better the government job
2. Served as tax collectors, judges, administrators, and clerks.
C. Role of Concubines and Eunuchs
- Concubines were to give the emperor a son. they were very very poor women.
-Eunuchs were men who worked very highly for the king. Went through a harsh transition to do so.
D. Role of secret Societies
- they were used to talk badly about the emperor and if they were found they would be ended and every one included would be executed .
-work secretly to overthrow emperor
